Richard Nunez is a self-taught painter and artist who came to national attention through his discovery as a live artist painting for local restaurants and charity galas. His unique creations are a connection, to not only his personal experiences in life, but to capturing the essence of mood, place and time in whatever he is recreating.

Born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN, Richard is a Native American whose roots originate from the Apache Tribe. He currently paints live at Sonoma Grill and Wine Bar in Flower Mound, TX. Richard’s presence and artwork in the restaurant has made a huge influence on the restaurant, which has been rated the number one Wine Bar in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for its ambiance and food.

Richard paints with a unique colorful genre that springs from the expression of an artist whose background is full of character-building experiences. From forklift driver to standup comic, from homelessness to successful restaurant manager, from working security for celebrities to secretly living out of a storage unit, he has tasted the different sides of life that have increased his Faith in what he offers in his interpretation of life on paper, canvas or walls. His personal story was recently submitted to Hollywood, and although it may never be produced on film, you can still feel a strong connection to what he produces with pencil or paint.

His concern for children, abused women and the arts have moved him to raise funds, through donated works of art, for such organizations as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, FMPAT, TexProtects, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Dallas Women's Museum, Meals on Wheels, the MAC, and is currently getting set up to aid CCA, Friends of the Family and is always open to having his Gift be used for the good of Community and raising awareness for the rights of women and children.

His commissioned work is displayed across the United States and in Germany. His work is nationally registered.
